The 2024 Annual Lakeside Hoops Basketball Tournament marked another incredible chapter in the journey of Rise Above GTA. With 40 youth participants and 60 engaged community members, the event created an electric atmosphere. This year’s 2nd annual Lakeside Hoops tournament was a huge success! The young Men at Lakeside Hoops would like to take this moment to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the participants, volunteers, spectators, the town of Richmond Hill, and lastly the generous sponsors.  September was Sickle Cell Awareness Month and this year we were able to raise $1770 $ in donations. We are so happy to announce that through the help of your generous donations, this September 2021, Lakeside Hoops will be able to offer help and support to the Sickle Cell patients at University Health Network (UHN). This year’s 2nd annual Lakeside Hoops Tournament was a huge success!  With the upward trend of basketball, fuelled by the Toronto Raptors and more Canadian athletes making a mark in the NBA draft pick, Toronto is quickly becoming a basketball city. With that being said, the streetball scene is also rapidly becoming one of the more popular summer activities.  Lakeside Hoops secures its position in creating a tournament filled with competitive athletes, good music, on an aqua blue court  against the northside sunlight, with a diverse crowd from skateboarders, volleyball players, dog walkers, kids in the park to the fans who come out to watch and cheer on their team.
