This year, we’re bringing something new to our sickle cell warriors, families and community: Sickle Scars: Art from the Invisible Battles of Sickle Cell.
Curated by Founder and Project Coordinator Emmanuel Boakye, Sickle Scars is a multidisciplinary pop up exhibition using painting, photography, mixed media and storytelling to explore the often unseen realities of sickle cell disease.
The evening will also feature a live panel discussion, bringing together lived experience and health perspectives to explore the physical and emotional realities of sickle cell beyond the diagnosis.
